Access Scioto County provides safe, reliable, and affordable public transportation available to anyone in the Scioto County area. The service is Demand Response with routes and times based on the demand of our passengers. Pickups are at the curb in front of the home or specific location and drop-offs at the curb of their destination.

We request that those wishing to use our service call at least 24-hours in advance to schedule their ride(s). All our vehicles are accessible to those who use mobility devices (such as wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, etc.). Anyone needing assistance getting in and out of buildings can have a personal attendant or aid ride with them at no charge.

Our goal is to give individuals in our community, who lack a reliable means of transportation, a hand up to take advantage of programs and services in our community that will enable them to lead a happier, healthier, and more independent lifestyle. Daily we take passengers who cannot or chose not to drive to medical offices, dialysis clinics, physical therapy, counseling and rehab centers, pharmacies, schools, workplaces, nutrition sites, adult daycares, grocery stores, farmers markets, banks, salons/barbers, senior centers, etc.

We offer very affordable prices based on the distance that the passenger travels.

Our service area divided into grid areas. Each grid area is approximately five square miles. Each one-way trip costs $1.00 base fare for the first initial grid area traveled and 50-cents for each additional grid area traveled. For example, Portsmouth and New Boston are contained in one grid area. So, any one-way trip within the Portsmouth and New Boston grid area would cost $1.00. For Exact cost of a trip between two points and more information call the scheduling department at 740-353-5626, ext. 203. We also offer a half-price discount for those 65-years and older, disabled, children 12 and under, and veterans of the U.S. military.
